The vineyards of Château Clerc Milon, a Grand Cru Classé in 1855 classification, are grown in a single block in the Pauillac appellation. Bordering two first Crus Classés and mainly located on the renowned Mousset rise overlooking the Gironde River, they benefit from a unique microclimate.
A STORY
In few words
The vineyard, with an average age of 47 years, consists largely of plots planted in the early 20th century. It boasts a unique genetic heritage and well-preserved biodiversity, and comprises five grape varieties typical of the region. Its soil consists of deep, sandy gravel resting on a clay-limestone subsoil which outcrops on the eastern part of the estate.
It was in 1970 that Baron Philippe de Rothschild acquired Château Clerc Milon and undertook its extensive renovation. His daughter, Baroness Philippine, continued his work from 1988 onwards. Today, her children Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, President-General Manager, Camille Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild uphold the values and expertise of the Baron Philippe de Rothschild company and continue to develop Château Clerc Milon with the same dynamism and commitment to modernity. Thanks to more than 50 years of continuous effort, as well as a dedicated team equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities, Château Clerc Milon is, more than ever, a benchmark of Médoc excellence.
