Founded in the early 19th century by Irishman Bernard O’Phelan, the estate has belonged to the Belgian family of Philippe Van de Vyvere since 2018.
A haven for biodiversity, the estate is home to 114 hectares of grounds, forests, prairies and ponds and 70 hectares of vines spread out over four separate blocks, fully expressing the diversity of the appellation’s clay gravel soils.
Respectful viticulture, enhanced microbial life in the soil, mass selection and plot-by-plot fermentation using indigenous yeast help reveal the true personality of the wine.
Château Phélan Ségur is renowned for its finesse, controlled power, balance and freshness.
