Château Marquis d’Alesme Becker
Margaux
A hidden gem
“In the traditional world of Bordeaux, Marquis d’Alesme is reinventing the notion of Grand Cru Classé.”
Nathalie Perrodo Samani
A STORY
In few words
Grand Cru Classé in 1855, Marquis d’Alesme Becker contributes in its way to building the history and reputation of Margaux. Its successive owners, well-known for their cosmopolitan culture, helped to develop the estate over the centuries, guided by a love of beauty and the desire to produce a great wine.
Today Nathalie Perrodo continues, with great enthusiasm, to pursue her father’s goals, while bringing a new dynamic to the estate. Alongside Marjolaine Maurice de Coninck, General Director, she is writing a new chapter in the history of the estate, where the meticulous care that is taken to make a Great Wine is superbly reflected in the tasting experience.
In one of the world’s most prestigious wine-growing areas, the terroir of Marquis d’Alesme offers all the right conditions for achieving the level of excellence necessary for great wines. The soil is ideally exposed on natural gentle slopes, and the weather is mild thanks to the presence of the nearby Gironde estuary.

DOUBLE CULTURE
Marquis d’Alesme is a free-spirited Margaux, with a pronounced taste for the exotic and cosmopolitan. This uniqueness has its roots in the travels of the Marquis d’Alesme in the 18th century, and of Jean Bekker Teerlink in the 19th. A tradition of openness continued today by the Perrodo family: the estate embodies a unique dual culture of East and West, which boldly sets it apart amongst the great Margaux estates.
AN EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION
In the heart of the village of Margaux (and Château Margaux’s closest neighbour), Marquis d’Alesme offers a rare, dreamlike experience where sensory pleasure vies with aesthetic delight. It is a ‘wine-world’, halfway between encounter and inspiration, brought to life by a truly curatorial vision, where every detail, every stone, tells a story of excellence and emotion. The hospitality here is intimate: private tours, the ‘Parenthèse Enchantée’ – everything is about balance, texture and memory.
HAUTE COUTURE
Classified as a Third Grand Cru in 1855 and intimately linked to the surrounding landscape, Marquis d’Alesme covers just 15 hectares. It is a very Cabernet-driven Margaux, hand-crafted, tended vine by vine, without compromise. The grapes are harvested by hand in stages according to the ripeness of the rows, and after meticulous sorting, they are transferred to vats by gravity.
Extraction is gentle, by infusion. Ageing, batch by batch, in the tranquillity of the cellar’s alcoves, with a moderate proportion of new oak, preserves the fruit’s vibrancy and crafts a precise, delicate and elegant Margaux, with a delightful nose of flowers and black fruits, and a deep texture.
COMMITMENT
Beyond the wine itself, the estate is committed to supporting social initiatives, prioritising craftsmanship, the passing on of knowledge and sustainable collaborations.
A discreet commitment, rooted in time, faithful to the free-spirited and humanistic ethos of the Marquis d’Alesme in the past and the Perrodo family today.
