Château La Cabanne

Pomerol

Famille François ESTAGER

Owned by the same family since 1952, Château La Cabanne is located in the heart of Pomerol. While vines have grown there since the 12th century, the name dates back to the 14th century, when serfs lived in cabanes, or huts.

A STORY

In a few words

A dynamic estate, Château La Cabanne regularly undergoes improvements, including the complete renovation of the vat room in 2011 following a fire which destroyed the 2008 vintage.

Winegrowing is carried out with the greatest respect for the terroir and environment (the estate is HEV-certified and under conversion to organic viticulture).

Located on the Pomerol plateau and its subsoil rich in blue clay, nicknamed the kingdom of Merlot, the vines produce powerful and well-balanced wines, with intense, complex fruity notes and delicate, silky tannins which add volume, concentration and richness.

The long aftertaste culminates in a touch of minerality.

Together with our consultant Thomas Duclos (OEnoteam), we strive to produce elegant, classy wines from Merlot grapes (100% in certain vintages) on a marvellous Pomerol terroir.
