Château Doisy-Védrines

Sauternes & Barsac

OLIVIER ET ERIC CASTEJA

The Chevaliers de Védrines owned this estate for centuries and gave their name to it.

A STORY

In a few words

Included in the 1855 classification, it was acquired by the present owners in the mid-XVIIII century.

Doisy-Védrines is located on a clay-limestone plateau in Haut-Barsac. The soil is ploughed using traditional methods and the grapes are picked by hand in four or six passes. Fermentation and ageing take place exclusively in French oak barrels.

The combination of modern and traditional winemaking techniques gives Château Doisy-Védrines its trademark freshness and finesse typical of the finest wines of Barsac. Annual production varies from 40,000 to 50,000 bottles depending on the vintage. When young, the wine is well-balanced and particularly delicious as an aperitif. Older vintages are a delight at the end of a meal.
