Château Rauzan-Gassies

Margaux

Château Rauzan-Gassies is a second growth in the 1855 classification. Located in the Margaux appellation, it owes its name to Chevalier de Rauzan, who transformed the “Maison Noble de Gassies” into a famous wine estate in the XVII century.

A STORY

In a few words

Already planted with vines when it was ranked in the 1855 classification, the estate’s 30-hectare vineyard consists of a patchwork of soils on the appellation’s two most renowned rises.

Monsieur Paul Quié, a wine lover and merchant in Paris was greatly attracted by this outstanding terroir and acquired the château in 1946. Nowadays, his grandchildren, twins Anne-Françoise and Jean-Philippe, perpetuate the traditions of this famous estate, as the guardians and ambassadors of the family’s values.
